The Pivotal Group has created a program that whilst unlocking hidden talents and breaking down inhibitions, provides a most inspirational and effective team building experience using the power of music.
The skills required to become a successful creative musical unit are identical to the demands of any team who need to work together to achieve a common goal.
Communication is the key to so much but often misunderstood and overlooked as the underlying cause of bad -feeling, conflict, confusion and a total break-down in team development.
Why does poor and inappropriate communication occur in the workplace when the perception is that it's so easy to master? The answer is of course that in reality it's not easy to master and to become effective in communication requires hard work and effort, which the majority of people would claim they don't have time for.
They do have time, we all have time but we or somebody else e.g. the boss decides how we spend that time, or perhaps waste it!
We often don't have time because we are too busy fire-fighting!
Our programme highlights the damage caused by spending disproportionate amounts of time being reactive when being pro-active will eliminate or at worse reduce the need for being overly reactive. We believe communication is the glue and without it everything will fall apart. It's a fact that the majority of misunderstandings (creating the fires) are caused by poor communication.
We uncover the basic elements we know from experience are often neglected but when fully understood and practiced can make substantial improvements in relationships and performance.
The power of questioning and listening can be immense - we'll show you why and how to unleash this power.
Why Non-verbal communication cannot be ignored and why it is the most significant element in face to face situations. You'll learn what to look out for and how to respond positively to what you have seen not heard!
Why do we react differently to the same situation or criticism? We'll explain why and how to adapt to these to build rapport and ensure that the dialogue is positive even when the situation is not!
How teams evolve and mature doesn't happen naturally it's systematic. The team starts out as a group of people and then needs to make the journey which takes them from a group to a team.
How long the journey takes and whether they ever reach the final destination has several critical dependencies.
We focus on these to ensure that the journey time is minimised and the right destination reached.
Motivation and empowerment - the real meaning and how powerful it can be.
We explore the most meaningful motivational models and relate these to today's working environment where results and performance are king and to sustain them often means change and change is often resisted - why? Because people don't understand and cannot therefore appreciate the benefits change can bring to them.
If people can see a benefit they won't resist. If there are no benefits then expect to get resistance and learn how to deal with it positively. We will explain how.
Empowerment is fundamental to motivation but often neglected and misunderstood. This session explains why empowerment is so important and how you can empower people to get the best from themselves and their team.
What next - aims, objectives, absolute self-promises and action plan.
Delegates will discuss and develop their own plan that can and will be implemented over the next 3 months to ensure that these three-days will have a lasting impact on them, their role and how they operate as a team.
At the close of the final day the participants receive, along with a recording of their work a written summary including the training models studied and a diary they are encouraged to keep during the three-day event.
a truly inspirational setting for a once in a life time experience and an opportunity not to be missed.
There are other residential studios in the world but none so fine as Sarm Hook End.
